Hey everyone, this week we had a choice on if we wanted to make a bookmark or a Hornby High School teacher recipe and I chose to do the HHS teacher and this is what I came up with and I'm very proud of myself for this piece of work but  really hope you enjoy this as much as me and this was a very fun activity to do.

STEAM

hi everyone, since last week Shanaya,Casey and I have been working our project steam and what we are doing is invention and we are are trying to create and hot water in New Zealand homes with no gas and we going to try power it with solar powering. What we had to do first was to ask questions to ourselves, questions like what is the problem? and what do you already know about the problem? and then we would have to research the answers for those questions. Next we have to do imagine, the questions we had for that was what ideas do I have? and things like that. After we did that we needed to do plan and that is basically what do we need for our project. And now we are doing create and that just about how is my group tracking? and how is my design progressing? After we finish all of that we finally get to test it and basically what we do in that is since Shanaya Casey and I are making a 3D diagram of what our project would look like in really life. Shanaya Casey and I think that this will be a good topic to do this on because in New Zealand home gas will be banned in 2032. The things we are using to make our 3D project is cardboard, hot glue gun, straws, scissors, colored paper, two coke cans and bottle caps.

Hello everyone in hur 1 we are talking about bystanders and out standers and the teacher gave us couple sentences and we have to say what we would do in this situation.

Monique’s parents expect her to come home directly from school each day. But today, Jamila wants Monique to come to her house for a little “get together” after school. Some of the other kids are coming over and Jamila’s mother won’t be home. Monique doesn’t want to go because she knows her parents will be really angry if she goes and she isn’t sure it is safe without any adults there. Jamila doesn’t want to take “no” for an answer because Monique is her best friend.

I think that Monique should should say “ I would love to stay but my parents would be very angry at me because they might get worried not knowing where I am and they expect me to start going home as soon

as possible”

And if Jamila still doesn't let me go home she could say “maybe next time so we could organize

It.

What am I learning?

That no matter what bullying is never the right answer

How does this work show my learning?

It shows my learning because I am describing what I would do if someone was getting bullied and

I could understand what we had to to

100 Word Challenge

Hello everyone we are doing the 100 word challenge where the teacher gives us a sentence and we have to make a story story about it that has to be around 100 words long. This time the sentence was "A flash of light and, then, darkness..."
And this is what I came up with in the time the teacher gave us.

                      The Siren Call
                                                        Stella Coles-Toki

Sirens go off, it feels like they will go forever. Our whole family huddles into a little corner rocking back and forth. Mum just says SHHHH but that makes us more scared. it's silent, it's never been this quiet before suddenly a bright light beams through the windows not knowing what it is. I hear a man's voice saying “ clear, onto the next house “

A flash of light and then darkness, my little sister was about to talk but then mum held her hand as tight as she could to agent her mouth so she couldn't talk. Suddenly there were bangs at the back door.

Achievement means that when you do any of your work you do it at the best you can. Resilience means that even if you are sad or angry and annoyed you still try your best at what ever you are doing. Respect means to acknowledge that your actions and words can in packed other people and to care about other peoples ideas and thoughts.
